Selecting an event moves the video. On a live stream that means jumping back into the recorded part of the broadcast.

Four panels sit beside the video: events, lineups, standings and comments. How you reach them depends on whether you are watching live or a replay.
This guide covers those four panels, seeking to a specific event, watching a highlight, and how the Back button behaves once a panel is open.
Reaching the panels
All four panels come from the video itself rather than from a separate screen. The controls differ between the two players, which is the one thing worth knowing up front.
Live and replay controls differ
On a replay, swipe down on the clickpad to bring up the transport bar and move across to the panel you want. On a live stream there is no transport bar — the same four appear as round buttons in the on-screen controls. Either way you get the same panels.
If you are looking for the transport bar during a live game and cannot find it, this is why. Look for the round buttons instead.
The events panel
The events panel lists what has happened, newest first, with goals, cards and period changes on the side of the team they belong to. Select any event and the video seeks to it.
Jumping to the next event
Rather than opening the panel, you can jump straight to the next event from the video. The player finds the next event at least thirty seconds ahead, seeks a little before it so you see the build-up, and shows a short message naming the event and the score.
If a game has no events recorded yet, you get a message saying so instead of the video moving.
Lineups and standings
Lineups and standings are wide centred overlays rather than a side panel, because both need the room. Lineups puts the two teams side by side, starters first, then a Substitutes heading below the divider. Standings is the league table with the position, the team and the stat columns your league publishes.
Reading comments
Comments shows the game's discussion, newest at the top, with each post's author underneath it.
Comments are read-only on the Apple TV. You can report or delete a post, but there is no way to write one — post from the phone app or the web instead.
Closing a panel
Press Back on the remote to close an open panel. The first press closes the panel and leaves the video playing; only a second press leaves playback.
On older remotes this button is labelled Menu. It behaves the same.
